LUTZ — A Land O' Lakes woman was rushed to the hospital after her sports utility vehicle crashed into a semi truck early Wednesday morning.
Sarah Scoggins, 31, was driving east on State Road 56 at 1:07 a.m. when she hit the back of a semi that was turning onto the road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The semi driver, 38-year-old Hector Broche, had just gotten off Interstate 75 when Scoggins' Hyundai SUV slammed into the back of his semi.
The Hyundai flipped, and Scoggins was taken by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center, the patrol stated.
Broche, of Spring Hill, was not hurt.
Charges were pending Wednesday morning.
