Seminole firefighter thrown from motorcycle, rushed to hospital

SEMINOLE — A local firefighter was hospitalized after his motorcycle collided with a car, deputies said.

James G. Fehl, 40, was westbound on Bay Pines Boulevard about 10 p.m. Sunday when he collided with a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Shane M. Ross, deputies said.

Ross was turning east from the parking lot of a strip shopping center at 9685 Bay Pines Blvd. when Fehl's 1987 Honda motorcycle collided with the car, deputies said.

Fehl, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle, deputies said. Passersby administered CPR until paramedics arrived, deputies said. Fehl was at Bayfront Medical Center Monday with life-threatening injuries.
