ST. PETERSBURG — Seven people were injured Tuesday morning after a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus collided with an SUV, authorities said.
The crash happened at about 8:05 a.m. at 18th Avenue S and 16th Street, said Lt. Joel Granata, spokesman for St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the bus was westbound on 18th Avenue S when it collided with a 2010 Ford Explorer that was going north on 16th Street.
Multiple fire units and ambulances responded to the crash. Seven people — six from the PSTA bus and the SUV driver — were taken to local hospitals.
None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, Granata said.
Police are still investigating. They said both drivers claimed to have a green light.
Officials will review surveillance from the PSTA bus to determine fault, police said.
