Several injured in multi-vehicle crash involving school bus

ST. PETERSBURG — An infant and a child protection investigator with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office were injured Wednesday afternoon in a car accident that also involved a school bus, deputies said.

It happened at 4 p.m. at the intersection of 16th Street and 15th Avenue N, deputies said. The school bus and three other vehicles, including one driven by the on-duty investigator, were involved. Deputies did not immediately say how the accident happened.

The investigator, an infant who was strapped to a car seat in the investigators' car and another driver were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, deputies said.

None of the children on the bus were hurt. They were placed on another bus that continued the route, deputies said.
