Sheriff's employee charged with leaving scene of crash

ST. PETERSBURG — A Pinellas County Sheriff's Office employee has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving injuries.

Willye G. Shaw, 37, is not a deputy but is a technical support specialist assigned to the agency's Information & Systems Analysis Section. He was hired in 2006.

He was arrested shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday in St. Petersburg. The Sheriff's Office released no further details about the case because it's an active St. Petersburg police investigation.
