LARGO — A Pinellas County deputy sideswiped a car, forcing it off a road early Saturday morning. The car's driver suffered minor injuries, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Alan Clark was driving his 2008 Ford Crown Victoria cruiser north on the U.S. 19 frontage road approaching 66th Street N. Harry Wilson, 55, of Largo was approaching the frontage road intersection in his 2008 Toyota Camry. It was 3 a.m.

As both cars entered the intersection, investigators said, Clark failed to stay in his lane and side-swiped the passenger side of the Toyota. Wilson's car was pushed off the road and onto a grassy shoulder, where it stopped.

He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Clark was not injured.

Investigators said they do not suspect alcohol or drug impairment were factors.
