Southbound lanes of Interstate 75 closed after tanker fire

TAMPA — The southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near the Hillsborough-Manatee county line were shut down Wednesday morning due to a vehicle fire, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fire was reported about 6 a.m. near mile-marker 231 in Palmetto. The fire involved a fuel tanker, according to Bay News 9 reports.

Troopers were on scene investigating the incident.

No further information was immediately available.
