Spring Hill man killed in Friday motorcycle accident

HERNANDO BEACH — A man was killed Friday after his motorcycle ran off the road, ejecting him, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Jerry J. Hollinger, 69, of Spring Hill was riding a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle south on Shoal Line Boulevard toward Osowaw Boulevard shortly before 3 p.m. when his bike left the road, troopers said. Hollinger tried to steer back onto the road, but the motorcycle overturned, throwing him off.

Hollinger, who wasn't wearing a helmet, died at the scene. Alcohol did not factor into the crash, troopers said.
