BROOKSVILLE — A St. Petersburg man died Wednesday night after falling off an all-terrain vehicle and hitting his head a day earlier, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
About 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jeffrey Duncan, 52, was riding on an ATV on Taft Street, west of Brooksville, driven by Tracy Harloff, 51, of Brandenton, according to an FYP report. Harloff turned a corner and Duncan fell off and struck his head.
Harloff helped Duncan back onto the ATV and drove him to a friend's house, according to the report. Duncan then started bleeding from his ears, and Harloff drove him to Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill.
From there, Duncan was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson. He was pronounced dead just after 5 p.m. Wednesday, a day before his birthday.
