St. Petersburg man dies in early morning motorcycle crash

ST. PETERSBURG — A man riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve early Saturday and was killed in the crash.

St. Petersburg police said Jason Eric Itro, 40, of 74th Avenue N, was driving westbound on the 400 block of 83rd Avenue Northeast at about 1 a.m. when he drove over the curb of the roadway after he missed a curve.

Itro and his Honda fell down a slight embankment and struck a concrete culvert. Itro died at the scene. Police said "alcohol impairment" is suspected.
