St. Petersburg man in critical condition after motorcycle crash

Authorities said Yeinny Yocasta Owens was driving a Toyota Prius headed south at the 9100 block of Blind Pass Road at 9:37 p.m. A Suzuki motorcycle driven by Joseph William Maksimowicz was headed north at a high speed when it crossed into the southbound lane and hit the Prius head on, deputies said in a statement.  Maksimowicz, 21, of 4941 56th Way N, St. Petersburg, was taken to a hospital by ambulance and was listed in critical condition, deputies said. Owens, the Prius driver, 33, from Madeira Beach, was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said. The investigation is continuing, authorities said.
