St. Petersburg man killed in Fourth Street crash

ST. PETERSBURG — A St. Petersburg man was killed Friday night when a truck struck his car on Fourth Street N.

Jose Fernandez, 29, of St. Petersburg was driving his blue Kia Spectra north on Fourth Street about 10 p.m. Friday when a black Dodge Ram driven by Shawn Meader, 43, of Tampa struck the front left of his car, police said. Police said Meader was traveling southbound and trying to turn left on 41st Avenue N.

Fernandez died on the scene, police said, and Meader was uninjured.

An investigation is ongoing.
