ST. PETERSBURG — An 89-year-old St. Petersburg woman whose car collided with a minivan earlier this month has died, police said.
Virginia Katharine Davis, 89, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with serious injuries after the May 8 accident. She died Friday of complications from blunt force trauma, authorities said.
Davis was driving east on First Avenue S in a 1983 Buick Regal that morning when she entered the intersection with 34th Street.
Albert Ramos, 44, of St. Petersburg was driving a 2007 Chrysler minivan with three passengers when he collided with Davis' car in the intersection, police said. No one in the minivan was seriously injured.
Police have not yet determined who ran a red light at the intersection. The crash is still under investigation.
