Motorcyclist dies after crash with car

A St. Petersburg woman was killed while riding a motorcycle Thursday evening when a car turned into her path, throwing her from the vehicle.

The crash occurred as Kassidy M. Titara, 25, was driving a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle south on 28th Street S approaching Sixth Avenue S around 6:15 p.m., according to St. Petersburg police.

At the same time, Celina Soroa, 52, of St. Petersburg was driving a 2012 Ford Focus north in the middle lane of the 600 block of 28th Street S, police said.

Soroa did not see Titara, police said, and turned left into the motorcycle's path. Titara slammed into the passenger side of the Focus.

Titara was thrown from the motorcycle onto the roadway, police said. She was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and died shortly afterward. Soroa was not injured, police said.
