St. Petersburg woman hospitalized after crashing into tree

ST. PETERSBURG — A 21-year-old woman was injured early Saturday when she veered off the road and hit a tree, St. Petersburg police said.

Jasmine Rowe of 813 37th Ave. S was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in critical condition.

According to police, Rowe was northbound on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in a 1985 Chevrolet around 6:40 a.m. when she swerved across the southbound lanes and struck a tree in front of a home at 4610 King St.

It was unknown what made Rowe lose control of the car.

An investigation is ongoing.
