ST. PETERSBURG — Police have reopened a section of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street N after closing it to deal with two traffic crashes Tuesday morning.

Traffic was closed in both directions from 22nd to 26th Avenue N for about two hours.

The first accident brought a power pole to the ground at 23rd Avenue N about 10:50 a.m., police said.

The second crash occurred after emergency vehicles arrived. Police said it may have started when a driver had a "medical emergency."
