SUV drives into Pinellas Park house

PINELLAS PARK — An SUV crashed into the living room of a Pinellas Park home before dawn Monday.

According to Pinellas Park Police, Herbert Bireley, 57, drove a Ford Explorer into a utility pole, over the front yard and then into the living room of a house at 4415 100th Ave. N.

The two people and two dogs living in the white home were sleeping in the bedroom when the SUV smashed through their front door and living room window just before 6 a.m. They were not injured.

Bireley, a Tampa Tribune newspaper deliverer, was taken to Northside Hospital and Heart Institute with a possible head injury. He was cited for careless driving and driving with a suspended licence without knowledge.

The cause of the crash is unknown. No further information was immediately available.
