SAN ANTONIO — A 61-year-old Tampa man died Friday morning after his car veered off Interstate 75 and crashed into a tree.
The crash happened about 8 a.m. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was driving north on I-75, just south of State Road 52, when he lost control of his two-door Pontiac, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The car swerved into the center median. Then the driver over-corrected and ran off the east shoulder of the interstate, colliding with a tree, FHP said. The driver died at the scene.
