Tampa police officer injured in crash with van

TAMPA — A Tampa police officer was injured when a van collided with his patrol cruiser Tuesday morning, officials said.

Officer Shanta Butler was headed east on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard with the cruiser's lights and siren working about 8:40 a.m. to join another officer who was involved in a foot chase, officials said. When he crossed the intersection of 12th Street, a white Ford moved into the intersection and collided with the cruiser.

Butler was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital where he was treated for neck and knee pain, officials said. No one in the van, which was carrying six people, was injured, police said.

Witnesses to the crash told officers that it looked like the van was trying to beat the police cruiser through the intersection, authorities said. The crash remained under investigation.

A framed copy of Time magazine, dated March 1, 2009, that hangs in at least four of President Donald Trump's golf clubs, from South Florida to Scotland, is fake. There was no March 1, 2009, issue of Time. The real March 2, 2009, issue of Time featured actor Kate Winslet on the cover. But the issue makes no mention of Trump.
