The Florida Highway Patrol has identified a Tampa woman killed in a crash on Wednesday morning in Plant City.

Casey A. Curtiss, 36, died on Wednesday after she lost control of her 2012 Hyundai Elantra while on an Interstate 4 exit ramp, troopers said.

Around 10:58 a.m., Curtiss was traveling westbound on I-4 and exited to Park Road when she lost control for unknown reasons and drove off the road.

The car traversed the concrete embankment and plunged into a canal next to the roadway, troopers said.

Curtiss was transported to Florida Hospital South, where she later died from her injuries, troopers said.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, troopers said.
