Tanker crash in Sarasota County blocks northbound lanes of I-75

The northbound lanes of I-75 in Sarasota County were closed for most of the day after an accident involving a gasoline tanker truck.

Two lanes were opened this evening and all lanes were expected to be opened later tonight. Traffic was backed up for miles after the crash, which occurred early this morning.

Emergency crews eventually removed the tanker, which spilled some gasoline into a ditch.
