LARGO — Three people were injured early Saturday morning in a traffic crash on Ulmerton Road involving a Chevy Tahoe and two motorcycles, Largo police said.

The brown Tahoe was heading east toward W Rena Drive. The man driving, who police did not identify, said his brakes stopped working correctly and he hopped the median just past the Rena Drive turn lane.

A group of eight motorcycles traveling west on Ulmerton Road were approaching the Tahoe. Out of the group, two motorcycles were unable to avoid the collision and slammed into the side of the car.

Three people were injured: two women, one a passenger and one a driver; and one man, a driver. The police did not immediately identify them.

All of the injured were taken to Bayfront Hospital with serious injuries, though by Monday morning they were listed in stable condition.

Police said citations are pending in the investigation.
