Troopers report fatal crash in Wesley Chapel

WESLEY CHAPEL — A 67-year-old from Brandon was killed in a crash on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard near State Road 54 Thursday. Florida Highway Patrol troopers did not release the name or gender of the person killed.

Troopers said the crash occurred when a 2010 Cadillac driven by the 67-year-old veered from the southbound lanes of Bruce B. Downs into the northbound lanes.

The Cadillac hit a Honda driven by Nadine Maldonado, 20, of Tampa. She and her passenger, Simon Thomas Dominguez III, 25, of Wesley Chapel, suffered serious injuries and were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.

The 67-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene. The crash was under investigation Thursday night.
