The driver of a logging truck was hospitalized Wednesday morning after a CSX train crashed into his truck as he tried to cross the tracks at State Road 39 and Moriczville Lane near Plant City, authorities said. The driver, identified as Roberto Febles of Ocala, was taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue spokesman Chip Shields said. The train did not derail during the crash, which happened about 9:45 a.m. The conductor, Steven Couture of Lakeland, and two coworkers on board were not injured, authorities said. The fully loaded log truck was pushed about 1,000 feet along the tracks, Fire Rescue said.
