ZEPHYRHILLS — Two people were critically injured early Saturday after their car crashed into a tree, authorities said.
The accident occurred about 3:12 a.m. on Bernadette Drive, north of Francine Drive.
The Florida Highway Patrol said driver Tadd D. Wable, 20, of Zephyrhills, lost control of a 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse as he navigated a curve. The car left the roadway, struck a tree, overturned, then also hit a utility pole.
Wable and the passenger, Julian M. Duffy, 21, of Zephyrhills, were airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital. Both were listed in critical condition Saturday evening, according to hospital officials.
No other details about the crash were released.
