Two die in Plant City crash

PLANT CITY — Two people died in a crash Monday afternoon that closed the James L. Redman Parkway for hours, according to Plant City police.

The crash occurred about 3:45 p.m. when the driver of a 2009 Hyundai headed east on Johnson Road turned at the intersection of the parkway.

The driver turned into the path of a 2002 Sterling semitrailer truck traveling south on the parkway.

The driver and a passenger in the Hyundai died. Their names have not yet been released.

The semi's driver was not injured.
