TAMPA — Two school children and their bus driver were hospitalized Friday morning after the bus collided with a car, police said.

The school bus driver, who was not immediately identified, did not yield to an Audi at the intersection of N Rome Avenue and W Hanna Avenue, police said. The two vehicles crashed, and the bus driver was cited with violation of right of way at an intersection, police said.

The bus was on its way to Oak Grove Elementary School with 25 children on board.

Two of those children were taken with the bus driver to St. Joseph's Hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The children who remained were placed on another bus and taken to school.

There were four people in the Audi at the time of the crash. One was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
