ST. PETERSBURG — Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday on Interstate 375, officials said.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Darryl James Gordon, 27, of Tampa, lost control of his 1998 Kawasaki motorcycle just before noon on the exit ramp.

Gordon was exiting from northbound Interstate 275, and struck the concrete barrier with the left side of his bike.

He and his passenger, Audra A. Cole, 38 of Tampa, were thrown into a lane of traffic. Both were wearing helmets and taken to Bayfront Medical Center — Gordon with critical injuries and Cole with serious ones, officials said.
