Two sent to hospitals after water scooters collide near Dunedin Causeway

DUNEDIN — Two people were injured Saturday after multiple water scooters collided just south of the Dunedin Causeway.

The crash occurred around 5 p.m., according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

One person was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital with a head injury. The other was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor with an arm injury.

Their conditions were unknown as of 7 p.m., and their identities are not being made public at this time.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the accident.
