School bus carrying three special needs students collides with second bus in Pasco County

WESLEY CHAPEL—Two school buses crashed early Thursday at State Road 54 and Morris Bridge Road in Pasco County.

Pasco County Schools Director of Communications Linda Cobbe said one bus was carrying three special needs students, one in a wheelchair, to Wiregrass Ranch High School around 6:50 a.m. when it collided with another bus, which was empty.

Parents of two of the students took them to nearby medical centers for evaluation, the spokesperson said, but neither was seriously injured.

The third student was transported to school and was in class Thursday morning.
