PORT RICHEY — A 2-year-old boy survived a near-drowning incident Wednesday, authorities said.
The boy had been playing with other children when he fell into a pool at 9525 Gray Fox Lane, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, which was called to the scene about 6:35 p.m. The boy's mother had stepped away from the pool for a short period of time, the sheriff's office said, and the boy spent less than a minute submerged before family members pulled him from the pool. The boy was flown to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg as a precautionary measure.
