Woman dies in head-on collision

A Valrico woman whom investigators say was driving in the wrong direction was killed Sunday in a head-on crash on State Road 60, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The 69-year-old woman, who was not immediately identified, was traveling westbound on SR 60 in the eastbound inside lane approaching Jerry Smith Road early Sunday, the FHP said. Glenda Dexter, a 51-year-old Plant City resident, was going eastbound in the same lane approaching Turkey Creek Road when the two cars collided head-on. The unidentified woman died at the scene. Dexter's condition was not provided in an accident report, but she was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital.
