Victim identified in fiery crash Friday in Brandon

BRANDON — Troopers have identified the man killed in a fiery crash at used car lot Friday night as 48-year-old Joseph Thomas Fells of Tampa.

Fells' 1997 Plymouth Van crashed into a power pole after the vehicle veered off of State Road 60 into Tico and Bori's Used Car lot at 402 E. Brandon Blvd. around 9:20 p.m. on Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

The van overturned and burst into flames, igniting seven unoccupied vehicles on the lot. Fells was unable to get out of the van, and died at the scene.
