WESLEY CHAPEL — A 48-year-old woman was intoxicated Tuesday night when she drove away from the scene of a crash after rear-ending a pickup truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said Wendy Rogers was driving a 2013 Ford Edge eastbound in the center lane of State Road 56, west of Maple Parkway, around 8:10 p.m. when she slammed into the back of a 2017 Ford F-250 that was stopped at a red light.
Rogers drove away after striking the pickup truck, which was driven by 21-year-old James Pittman of Wesley Chapel.
Rogers was found soon after the crash and placed under arrested. She faces charges of DUI involving property damage and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. She was booked into the Pasco County jail.
