SOUTH PASADENA — A 68-year-old man died Tuesday, a day after his electric wheelchair was struck by a car on Pasadena Avenue, according to Pinellas sheriff's officials.
Roger L. Barchoff of St. Petersburg died about 3:40 p.m. at a local hospital, deputies said.
He was trying to cross at 1453 Pasadena Ave. S about 10:25 a.m. Monday when he was hit by a southbound 2010 Dodge Avenger driven by 27-year-old Peter John August Curcio of Cape Coral.
Barchoff was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with what appeared to be nonlife-threatening injuries.
Deputies said alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash.
Barchoff was not using a crosswalk.
