Woman, 21, dies after crash in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG — A 21-year-old woman who was injured early Sunday when she veered off the road and hit a tree has died, police said.

Jasmine Rowe of 813 37th Ave. S was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in critical condition. She was pronounced dead Wednesday at 5 a.m..

Rowe was northbound on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in a 1985 Chevrolet around 6:40 a.m. Sunday when she swerved across the southbound lanes and struck a tree in front of a home at 4610 King St., police said.

Police do not know why Rowe lost control of the car.

An investigation continues.
