Woman hits gas, then building in Clearwater

CLEARWATER — A 69-year-old woman was cited for careless driving after she accidentally crashed into a building Thursday morning.

According to Clearwater police, Natalie J. Stickler was pulling into a parking spot at 2569 Countryside Blvd. just before noon when her foot slipped and she hit the accelerator.

Stickler's Mercedes Benz hit the outside wall of First Watch Restaurant. No one was injured.

Clearwater firefighters stabilized the building as a precaution. Damage was estimated at $25,000.
