Woman seriously injured in fall from balcony at Treasure Island hotel

TREASURE ISLAND — A woman was seriously hurt after falling from a hotel balcony Thursday afternoon, police said.

The woman, 38-year-old Tiffany Weindel of Clearwater, fell from a seventh floor balcony to an overhang on the second floor at the Bilmar Beach Resort, according to a news release from Treasure Island police.

Weindel was not a guest at the hotel, at 10650 Gulf Blvd., and appeared to be alone at the time of the accident, police said. Authorities do not suspect foul play.

Weindel is at Bayfront Medical Center with serious injuries, officials said.
