CLEARWATER — A woman was hospitalized after she was struck by a car while crossing U.S. 19, police said.
Bonnie Jo Blessing, 45, was crossing west to east along U.S. 19 near Enterprise Road at 11:41 p.m. She stopped at the median. But when she continued to walk, Blessing was struck by a 2006 Suzuki Grand Track driven by Marjorie Blackman, 60, of Spring Hill, Clearwater Police said.
Blessing, who police say is a transient, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center. She reportedly sustained serious injuries, but they were not thought to be life-threatening.
