ZEPHYRHILLS — A Zephyrhills High School student was hit by a car Thursday afternoon, according to school officials.
The student's name had not been released. He is a 16-year-old freshman, said school district spokeswoman Linda Cobbe. The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Cobbe was not sure of the location, but Bay News 9 reported that the teen was riding his bike home from school near 12th Street. School lets out at 1:30 p.m.
The boy was flown to a St. Joseph's Hospital in the area. His condition was not known. No further information was immediately available.
