ST. PETERSBURG — A 16-year-old was shot early Thursday and taken to Bayfront Medical Center after he was forced into an apartment and told to take off all his clothes, police said. There are no suspects.

It happened just after 3:30 a.m. at 1701 Russell St. S, Apt. 1. Jonte Montez Brown told police he was walking down the street when someone with a gun forced him into the apartment and made him undress.

St. Petersburg police spokesman George Kajtsa said Montez was shot when he tried to climb out a window, but he managed to pull himself out of the apartment and yell to neighbors, who called 911. Montez's condition is unknown.

Kajtsa said there are no suspects so far. He said drug paraphernalia was found inside the apartment.
