Testing Grounds The latest industry being outsourced to India is clinical drug trials. And any number of tragic things can happen on the way to your medicine cabinet.
Friday Night Rewind It doesn't matter which team you cheer for. We've got video previews of every high school football program in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando County.
Pasco County detention deputies voted 132-62 to decertify the bargaining unit that has been representing them in contract negotiations with Sheriff Bob White. In balloting Tuesday and Wednesday, the jail's sworn deputies overwhelmingly voted out the Fraternal Order of Police, less than two years after voting to unionize. The union had yet to finalize a labor contract. Although not at an official impasse with White, it had been stalled in contract talks over the right to appeal disciplinary action. That's the same issue keeping law enforcement deputies from finalizing their labor contract. The law enforcement units do not have decertification votes scheduled but are at an official impasse with the sheriff.

Pasco needs an new Sheriff. This one was hand picked by Fasano and has been in his back pocket ever since. Both need to be ousted.

It is unfortunate that they gave in to the Sheriff. He is out of control. Power has definitely corrupted the man who originally won the office with the unions help. How quickly we forget where we come from.

the only interest Bob White has is in the department is MONEY. He has proven he spends it foolishly. I hope the deputies realize that his leadership is lacking in their interests and safety. Back up is some areas 15-20 minutes I hope you can hol

Get rid of the union and White. Most ret. cops have insurance under their departments policy...but they have to pay for it. LE job should not guarentee insurance benefits for life. Most ret. start another career anyway.

The deputies should have used the leverage of the union along with their solidarity. the only interest bob white has is in more money to hide incompetence with shear volume

A bad move. Time will prove that the sheriff does NOT have the best interest of the deputies at heart. A retired deputy from another state's retirement is higher than the pay of a county deputy! And he has full medical benefits for life!

I'm so happy for the detention deputies. I hope the LE deputies follow the same path. The union is a bust.

The rank and file should also boot the union. There is no reason they should be at impasse only that their leadership is playing politics instead of helping deputies. The rank and file should realize Sheriff White has their best interest.
