Authorities investigate sinkhole in Spring Hill

SPRING HILL — Hernando County authorities were investigating a sinkhole that opened Thursday afternoon on Lynnhaven Road.

The hole, near 10122 Lynnhaven Road, was roughly 20 to 25 feet wide and about 20 feet deep, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

The hole was not threatening any structures, authorities said. No evacuations were ordered, and no roadways were closed. No injuries had been reported.

According to Hernando County property records, the house at that address has had sinkhole activity confirmed in the past.
