Autopsy shows Pasco toddler drowned

HOLIDAY — The little boy who wandered away from home Wednesday afternoon and was found dead in a lake died from accidental drowning, according to autopsy results released Friday.

Trent Sailers would have turned 2 next month. He slipped away from his house at 1654 Paragon Place in Holiday while his mother, Toni Wayman, 23, and the other adults at the home slept. Wayman works the night shift at 7-Eleven. Housemate Mike Bogue, 18, said all of the doors were locked and he had no idea how Trent managed to get outside. Their home faces Angel Lake, which is where Trent was found that evening.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate Trent's death, said spokesman Kevin Doll. The investigation will then be forwarded to the State Attorney's Office, which would decide whether to file any charges.
