Body found near Hudson Beach was likely a suicide, Pasco deputies say

HUDSON – The body found floating in a canal over the weekend belonged to a man who likely took his own life, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.

A caller notified the Coast Guard about 4 p.m. Saturday of the body floating in a canal near Hudson Beach. Authorities identified the man as 70-year-old Nicholas Georgiadis, of Palm Harbor.

Pasco sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin said Georgiadis had taken prescription pills prior to his death, which appeared to be a suicide.
