BRANDON — A Brandon man was arrested Thursday after he beat his son with his belt.
Rodney "Peanut" Curtis Jones Jr. was charged with child abuse after he whipped his son as a form of corporal punishment, according to an arrest affidavit. The boy had cuts and bruises over his face, back, arms and legs.
After officials told Jones his rights, he admitted he hit his son with his belt.
Jones, 36, was taken to Hillsborough County jail, where he remained Friday in lieu of $5,000 bail.
