Call about drunk woman leads Hillsborough authorities to suspect in Manatee fatal crash

GIBSONTON — A call about a drunk and disorderly woman led to the arrest Saturday of a man wanted in connection with a fatal car crash in Manatee County, according to an arrest affidavit.

Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies responded around 3:45 p.m. Saturday to a call about an intoxicated woman causing a disturbance, the affidavit said. While looking for the woman, who was not named, authorities ran her husband's name through databases and found warrants.

Anthony K. Zipperer Jr., 28, of Ruskin was arrested near Gibsonton Drive and Peninsular Drive. He was booked on warrants for vehicular homicide and child neglect. According to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Zipperer was a driver involved in a July 26, 2010, crash in Palmetto. Authorities said his sedan rear-ended another car, pushing it into pole and killing the driver.
