Deputies still searching for man who jumped from bridge during traffic stop
Deputies are still searching for a man who jumped off the Belleair Causeway Bridge after running from a routine traffic stop Tuesday night.
Around 9:30 p.m., a Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputy stopped a dark blue Dodge Durango that was speeding over the bridge.
While the officer checked the man's license and registration, the driver ran out of the vehicle and leapt over the bridge's railing.
A Sheriff's Office helicopter, a fire rescue boat and the Coast Guard were searching for the unidentified man late Tuesday night, dispatchers said.
Deputies are still looking for the man, and anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Jacoby at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at 727-582-6200.
