A 49-year-old man who suffered chest pains in a sailboat had to be rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard on Wednesday morning.
Coast Guard officials said they received a call from the boat, Hasta Luego, just before 10:30 a.m. The sailor was about 1 mile east of St. Petersburg and said he was alone and suffering from chest pains.
Responders from the Coast Guard base in St. Petersburg plucked the man from his boat and returned him to shore. He was evaluated by EMTs and transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
