The U.S. Coast Guard said it is searching for an aircraft that left Brooksville en route to Cedar Key on Sunday.
Three people were aboard the aircraft, the Coast Guard said.
At 5:21 p.m. Sunday, the Coast Guard's Sector St. Petersburg received a report that a white and brown, single-engine aircraft failed to arrive in Cedar Key by noon. The Air Force Rescue Coordination Center reported the last known radar contact was about 7 miles south of Cedar Key at 11:06 a.m.
A flight plan was not filed, the Coast Guard said.
A helicopter crew from Air Station Clearwater and a 27-foot Special Purpose Craft-Shallow Water boat crew from Station Yankeetown launched to take part in the search, the Coast Guard said.
Also assisting are the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Levy County Fire and Rescue and Cedar Key Fire and Rescue.
